We are happy to announce that EVERING is on the Steam store, and this brings with it a few changes that will also affect the Itch store, but don't worry, they are good changes and we explain them in detail below.

TL;DR: EVERING is now on Steam and will be updated with each new chapter, same thing on Itch. The sooner you buy it, the cheaper it is.

The game is now on Steam as Early Access, a version that will be updated as new chapters are released. You won't have to buy the chapters separately, you buy it once and that's it.

We made this decision to simplify; if we released the chapters independently, you would end up with several versions of EVERING in your library and to maintain progress you would have to move the savefile manually. We want Steam to be a convenient and straightforward version.

For the Itch store we have taken a similar approach. This new version we'll update in the same way as on Steam, with each new chapter. But if you have already purchased the first chapter of EVERING on Itch (thank you!), you will be able to buy the new upgradeable version at a reduced price (until the next chapter is released). On both Steam and Itch, the price of this new version will increase with the release of each new chapter.

We are convinced that we will fulfill this commitment, EVERING will not be another game that spends years and years in early access. EVERING will be a full game in 2023.

Here's a bunch of questions you may still have about the release on Steam of EVERING.

• Q. I bought the first chapter of EVERING on Itch.io, do I have to buy the new version on itch.io ?

• A. Yes, but we want to thank you for your support by offering you a 50% discount on the full version here on Itch, until the next chapter is released. This way you'll get the full game for a lower price. Our original plan was to publish each chapter for a price of $4'99, so this way it is cheaper for you.

• Q. Will the first chapter of EVERING on Itch.io be updated? (The standalone version that was published November 24, 2021)

• A. Sadly no, the standalone first chapter I will not be updated further. 

• Q. Will the price of the new version of EVERING be higher?

• A. Yes. This new version will be updated with new content, so you are technically buying the final version, just a bit early. 

• Q. Will the price increase when more chapters are added?

• A. Yes, in both stores Steam and Itch, the price will increase exponentially with each new chapter we add. The sooner you buy it, the cheaper it is.

• Q. What will be the differences between the Steam version and the Itch version?

• A. In terms of content there will be no difference, both versions will be updated at the same time. The Steam version will be automaticaly updated and will include cloud saving, as well as other features that we can add in the future (achievements, trading cards...). To continue the game in the Itch version, the savefiles will have to be transfered manually to the new update version.

• Q. I bought EVERING on itch.io, do I have to buy the game also on Steam?

• A. You don't have to, but it is very much appreciated :)

• Q. Can I transfer my save from the Itch version to the Steam version? What about the standalone Chapter I and the upgradeable version on Itch?

• A. Yes, although it is not entirely recommended, due to cloud saves and other Steam stuff. From Steam to Itch should be fine.  Also, from the standalone Chapter I to the full version should works perfect.
